Verum Foundation at the international “Doing Democracy” event 🏛️

With pride, we announce that our Foundation had the honour of representing Polish non‑governmental organisations at the exceptional event “Doing Democracy – ERUA Event on Democracy and Civic Engagement”, which took place on 23–24 April 2026 at the European University Viadrina.

The event brought together scholars, students, and representatives of civil society from Poland and Germany to jointly debate the future of democracy and civic engagement.

As representatives of the NGO sector, we participated in panels and workshops devoted, among others, to the role of NGOs in building resilient democratic structures, strengthening citizens’ agency, countering social polarisation, and fostering collaboration between academia and practice (Service Learning) for the purpose of addressing local social challenges. We are proud that the voice of Polish NGOs was heard in this important European discussion. More information about the event can be found on the University Viadrina’s website and on ERUA’s official pages.

We have been granted NIW patronage as part of the IVY 2026 celebrations in Poland!

We are delighted to announce that the promotional campaign for the NGO Guide: “How to implement organisational culture regarding cooperation with volunteers in non-governmental organisations” has been granted the official patronage of the National Institute of Freedom – Centre for the Development of Civil Society as part of the International Year of Volunteers 2026 (IVY 2026).

This distinction means our initiative has been included in the official calendar of IVY 2026 events in Poland. This patronage serves as a vital confirmation of the importance of efforts to build conscious, responsible, and strategic cooperation with volunteers within the civil sector.

We believe that promoting best practices in this area contributes to strengthening NGOs and fostering the development of civil society.

Finale of the Programme "Professionalism. Responsibility. Empowerment. Strategic Volunteer Management"

We have just concluded the finale of the Programme “Professionalism. Responsibility. Empowerment. Strategic Volunteer Management,” which took place on February 5-6, 2026.

Over the past months, participants worked on strategies, tools, and solutions to strengthen volunteering in their organizations—from planning to implementing changes. Eleven months of meetings, discussions, experience sharing, and collaborative problem-solving that works in everyday volunteer management.

In the photo—programme graduates who are already translating their acquired knowledge into concrete actions. We keep our fingers crossed for the further results of this work—and for more best practices in volunteering!

The public task “Professionalism. Responsibility. Empowerment. Strategic Volunteer Management,” implemented by the Beneficiary – Verum Foundation based in Warsaw, is financed from the funds of the National Freedom Institute – Center for Civil Society Development under the governmental program Fund for Civic Initiatives NOWEFIO for the years 2021-2030.
