In connection with the implementation of the project Professionalism. Responsibility. Empowerment. Strategic Volunteer Management, funded by the National Freedom Institute – Centre for Civil Society Development under the government programme Civic Initiatives Fund NOWEFIO for 2021–2030, the Verum Foundation is seeking two trainers to:
2.1 Develop an original training and implementation programme comprising a mix of training sessions, workshops, consultancy, coaching/mentoring, aimed at individuals from Polish non-governmental organisations responsible for volunteer management within their organisations (hereinafter the “Programme”). This includes creating training materials, exercise sheets, validation sheets in cooperation with the second trainer, and transferring the copyright to the Foundation. The deadline for completion is 1 October 2024 – 31 December 2024, with an estimated workload of 32 hours. The anticipated framework (subject to change following a training needs assessment) includes:
Standards of third sector operation and cooperation with volunteers;
Development and wellbeing of volunteers as a guarantee of organisational growth;
Creating an organisational culture based on professional cooperation with volunteers and participatory management style [including motivation, managing difficult situations, fostering positive emotions, GROW model];
Organisational and legal aspects of volunteer engagement (contract templates, cooperation regulations, rights and obligations of both parties);
Principles of building training and mentoring programmes within organisations;
Information and communication in non-governmental organisations;
2.2 Implement changes to the Programme following the first training session – by 15 April 2025, estimated workload: 5 hours;
2.3 Conduct a series of four (4) two-day training sessions as a trainer, in cooperation with the second trainer, scheduled between March 2025 and January 2026. Planned session dates: March/April 2025 – part 1, May/June 2025 – part 2, September/November 2025 – part 3, December 2025/February 2026 – part 4; exact dates to be agreed. Estimated workload: 4 x 13 hours, total 52 hours, with the scope aligned with the Programme (section 2.1 above);
2.4 Conduct four (4) webinars dedicated to creating and implementing volunteer management plans (lecture plus experience exchange/discussion), in cooperation with the second trainer. Planned dates: April 2025, June 2025, October 2025, December 2025; estimated workload: 4 x 3 hours, total 12 hours;
2.5 Support Programme participants in implementation through coaching/mentoring sessions, to be carried out between April 2025 and February 2026, estimated workload: 64 hours (approximately 3.2 hours per participant);
2.6 Provide on-site assistance to organisations in implementing volunteer plans (optional, as needed), estimated workload: 2 hours (per organisation), to be completed between February and April 2026;
2.7 Develop, in cooperation with the second trainer, an e-Manual/Guide titled “How to Implement an Organisational Culture of Cooperation with Volunteers,” based on experiences from Programme implementations in participating organisations, and transfer the copyright to the Foundation. Deadline: January – April 2026; estimated workload: 80 hours.
Requirements:
Minimum 10 years’ experience in organising and supervising adult education;
Documented experience in education for the third sector;
Experience in managing educational projects funded by public funds;
At least 5 years’ experience in designing and delivering original training programmes;
Documented experience in coaching or mentoring; coaching certification will be an advantage.
