Priority 4: Strengthening the Competencies of Civil Society Organisations

Systemic Improvement of Management in Civil Society Organisations and Development and Implementation of Operational Standards

NoweFIO Projects:

Professionalism Responsibility Empowerment Strategic Volunteer Management

From October 1, 2024, to July 31, 2026, the Foundation is implementing a public task titled Responsibility. Empowerment. Strategic Volunteer Management as a beneficiary. This project is funded by the National Freedom Institute – Centre for the Development of Civil Society, under the government program Civic Initiatives Fund NOWEFIO for the years 2021-2030.

The project addresses the issue of recruiting and retaining volunteers within organisations. Its goal is to improve volunteer management in Polish NGOs by strengthening the competencies of individuals responsible for this area in selected organisations. This will enable them to implement professional and strategic volunteer management standards in their own organisations with expert support. The activities will include the implementation of a training and implementation programme through a mix of training sessions, workshops, consulting, coaching, and mentoring. Subsequently, based on the experiences from the implementations in the aforementioned pilot NGOs, a guide titled “How to Implement an Organisational Culture in Volunteer Collaboration” will be created for other organisations that wish to adopt professional volunteer management standards. Simultaneously, promotional activities will be conducted to encourage the enhancement of competencies in this area as part of the Task and to present the benefits thereof.

The financial funding amount is 156,208 PLN and constitutes 100% of the total value of the task. The agreement for the implementation of the public task was concluded on September 26, 2024.
